THE BEST OF INTENTIONS By Susan Anne Mason

For those of you who like historical romances, I've found a new author whom I'm going to add to my favorites list. This book, the first in a series stole my heart. I loved, loved, loved it five stars.

Grace Abernathy leaves her home in England to travel to Canada in the New World to find her sister and her new born nephew. When she arrives, she finds her sister has passed away and her nephew is in the hands of in-laws that her sister's letters indicated were not the friendliest or kindest of people.

Grace sets out to find out how her nephew fares and ends up through a series of events becoming his nanny under an assumed last name. She quickly becomes friends with Virginia and Andrew Easton the siblings of her sister's deceased husband. Andrew is now her nephew's guardian.

Andrew and Grace are drawn to each other and she soon learns he is a good man and one she can trust to love and care for his nephew; but she doesn't know how to let him know who she really is and ,besides,  Andrew is courting another who doesn't care for the child.

There are so many delightful twists and turns in this story of tragedy, love, and forgiveness. Even though we have the "Best of Intentions" our words and actions can harm those we love and care about the most.

It deserves a place on your keeper shelf. Thanks to Bethany House for allowing me to read this novel through Netgalley.

TAKE A CHANCE By Shelley Shepard Gray

Take a chance that things will work out if you make a major move. Take a chance that sacrificing for your brother will make his dreams come true. Take a chance that you just might have found the right girl even if she's your brother's teacher. Kurt Holland takes a chance and it's a great romantic read.

Kurt is Sam's big brother and guardian. They've moved from West Virginia to Bridgeport, Ohio, a larger town with a great school system so Sam can have a better chance to earn a scholarship to college. Kurt has put all his savings into a landscaping business that's doing pretty good and a comfortable house but they have left all their friends and their dad who is grieving the loss of his wife and his job. Some days are full of struggles and they aren't sure that it was the right move to take a chance at all.

Sam is having difficulties fitting in at his new school but he has a girl he likes and ends up in trouble defending her honor. Kurt goes to school for a conference with his teacher, Emily Springer. He finds that she is passionate about her students and willing to help Sam succeed. Later, he runs into Emily again, and through their mutual attraction and his loneliness they decide to have a casual dinner date at her apartment.

I really like anything Ms. Gray writes. This is a great 5 star read and part of a series called the Bridgeport Social Club. Thanks to Blackstone Publishing for allowing me to read this book through Netgalley.

SOLD ON A MONDAY By Kristina McMorris

This is an exceptional story. It captures your heart from the beginning, that someone would consider selling children and even more so because their straits were so dire as to give them no choice. Struggling newspaperman, Ellis Reed, takes a picture of a scene that strikes a chord with a past of which he hasn't made peace.

Returning to his job he turns in the picture but continues to struggle with his assignments; then Lily Palmer, a single Mom, who has kept it a secret because of the stigma for an unmarried woman and because she was afraid she wouldn't land the job with her boss discovers the picture.

Lily brings it to the attention of her boss who wants Ellis to write a story. He excitedly tackles the job but then discovers the picture has been accidently destroyed. Ellis strikes out to find the boys in the picture again but now they are gone but two other children are there so he poses them with the sign he at retrieved from the original site. His article appeals to the general public and donations for the family beginning pouring in and Ellis, guiltily and secretly deposits them at the family's home.

Lily, in the meantime, wants to become a columnist herself; but her boss doesn't think women capable. She continues to work toward finding opportunities to change his mind. In the meantime, she and Ellis begin a fragile friendship at the same time another reporter vies for her attentions and things slowly become complicated.

Finally, both Ellis and Lily are drawn into corrected the mistakes suffered by the children caused by the false picture. These children had been inadvertently sold because the picture had led the wrong people to them.

This is a fascinating story drawn from photos and suffering during the depression and War time periods of our country's history. With a little romance and suspense thrown in, you will find a story that tugs at your heart strings and makes it hard to put the book down. Five star recommendation. Thanks to Sourcebooks Landmark for allowing me to read this book through Netgalley.

THE PATRIOT BRIDE By Kimberley Woodhouse

Part of the Daughters of Mayflower series, The Patriot Bride, is one of my favorites so far. Ms. Woodhouse does a great job incorporating history. In fact, the balance of romance and revolutionary life draws you in so that you feel as if you are part of the action. More than that, you find yourself sympathizing with General Washington and Ben Franklin because of the glimpse of the life they must have led and the sacrifices they had to make which lead you to appreciate them more. I don't think I had ever truly understood. I had learned the facts of history but it is so impersonal.

It is pure enjoyment to read this book and see what our founding fathers and early american ancestors had to do to ensure the freedom we enjoy. Faith Jackson, a widow, agrees to be a messenger, a dangerous job, and in the process she meets Matthew Weber, a patriot, undercover as a loyalist attempting to gather information and transfer it to Faith to get to the leaders of the cause.

As war begins to break out around them, they found their feelings for each other escalating and the danger to them both also increasing exponentially. To complicate matters, Faith has an unwanted suitor who is insistent and persistent.

Will their love survive the coming conflagration or will the sacrifices be too great. This book has my 5 star recommendation and can stand alone in the series. Thanks to Barbour Publishing for allowing me to read The Patriot Bride through Netgalley.

MINDING THE LIGHT By Suzanne Woods Fisher

Minding the Light, is the second book in the Nantucket Legacy series by author, Suzanne Woods Fisher. Ms Fisher puts you right in the middle of early 19th century America with flashbacks to a century before that through the journal of Mary Starbuck. She gives you glimpses of Quaker life as well as that of seafaring men and the women who wait for them at home.

In fact, the opening scene is of Jane Macy as she and her children are hurrying to meet her seafaring Captain husband, Reynolds Macy. But Jane only has a small role in the story although her character has an affect on all the others. The true heroine is her sister, Daphne who must step in and her the widowed Captain with his children whom he has only just met.

Jane leaves Reynolds a dying message to "Mind the Light" from which the book gets it's name. Reynolds, decides his wife didn't only die from sickness but was murdered. He accuses the Doctor because of some medicine he has been treating her with but all may not be as it seems.

Tristam, Reynold's partner also has him deep in debt and then suddenly disappears. A bounty hunter appears to apprehend Reynold's first mate, a black man, whom the bounty hunter wants to return to slavery.

Daphne's mother despises Reynold's and his children but she had already turned her back on Jane before she died. Now she pushes Daphne and Tristam into a betrothal neither, secretly, seems to want.

Minding the Light is a very interesting character study and a lesson in humility, redemption, and forgiveness. It is a historical romance but the romance rolls very gently through the story.

It makes for an interesting summer read. Thanks to Revell for allowing me to read Minding the Light through Netgalley

THE HOPE OF AZURE SPRINGS By Rachel Fordham

Rachel Fordham is a new young author but, already, I suggest you add her to your list of authors for your reading lists. This is an excellent start for her. From the opening paragraph to the final page, I was hooked. Em, the heroine, truly warrants that title. She is a young woman who has survived adversity knock after knock. She survives an attempted murder that succeeded in taking the life of her guardian, who turns out to not be much of a guardian. She is brought into Azure Springs where she meets Sheriff Caleb Reynolds who vows to find the perpetrators.

Sheriff Caleb Reynolds mistakenly treats Em as a child to start with until she corrects him and then he realizes she is just half starved to death. He thinks she's plain, not much to her, and not much to look at; but slowly she transforms and he finds that her beauty shines from within and makes her a hidden treasure.

Caleb is determined to solves Em's case and protect all those under his care especially Em. He feels he has to prove himself to his parents as the only living son since his three brothers all perished in the war.

Em doesn't trust easily and holds her past close to her vest. Her greatest desire is to find her little sister lost to her when they were separated off the Orphan Train.

Slowly, with out trying, Em begins to steal Caleb's heart and in turn he begins to share bits of himself with her as she does with him. Things escalate when Em is kidnapped by the bad guy. That is not the end of the surprises in the story. The ending is a true happily ever after, one a princess would appreciate. You'll know what I mean if you read the book.

WHERE THE FIRE FALLS By Karen Barnett

Karen Barnett is a new author for me but she will go on my list of authors to read and recommend. This is part of a series but the stories are meant to stand alone. They are a series because of the setting which is one of our great National Parks.

Ms. Barnett does a great job setting a scene and describing the views. You can almost hear, feel, and smell as well as visualize the surroundings. It is spectacular and I've never been. It is on my bucket list, however. But I digress. The story of an avant-garde artist and a Park Ranger Guide meeting and falling in love, though quite unusual, is very romantic. Clark Johnson is every woman's rugged hero even as he is a man of faith. Olivia has many flaws but don't we all. She slowly sheds her facade and the woman underneath is a sweet and trusting soul who needs a champion.

Olivia has come to Yosemite on contract for Scenic Magazine to paint scenes of Yosemite National Park. She doesn't really want to come but she has two sisters to support and get to college. She has a dark secret in her past that still haunts her--her father has murdered in this very park.

Clark Johnson is the guide the Magazine has contracted to show her around Yosemite. He knows the park almost better than anyone as he came here to escape his own dark past. Clark is a former Pastor who lost his church due to false accusations. He has an opportunity to become an official Park Ranger but feels God may have other plans.

As the relationship between Clark and Olivia heats up, they encounter many obstacles. The rich husband of the couple who accompanied her on her assignment accosts Olivia; and when she refuses his advances, he destroys some of Olivia's paintings. Later someone she trusted kidnaps her and plans her demise. Will Clark get to her in time?

This is an excellent book that I highly recommend especially to those who enjoy books of faith and romance combined. Thanks to Waterbrook and Multnomah for allowing me to read Where the Fire Falls through Netgalley.

STORM FRONT By Susan May Warren

Susan May Warren is at the top of my all time favorite authors list. Her series are suspenseful, romantic, realistic, and fun. I've not found a series by her that I didn't love and want all for my keeper shelf; but enough of that. Suffice it to say, Storm Front is another keeper. It can stand alone but works better with the series because you come to love all the characters and want to know their stories.

In Storm Front, you meet Ty Remington and Brette Arnold. From the opening scene you are catapulted into the world of storm chasers as Brette and Jonas chase one down. Brette taking pictures at the risk of her life almost gets killed right off the bat; however, you soon find out why she doesn't care. She has survived the ravages of breast cancer--a double mastectomy, and chemo. She's afraid the cancer will come back as her mother's did, so she ran from Ty who wanted a relationship because she didn't want to hurt him and drag him through her suffering and because he always wants to rescue her.

Ty works for the Peak rescue team.  When a tornado hits close to home, among the missing is his mentor and friend Chet. Ty is a helicopter pilot but one who doesn't want to fly anymore. He has his own issues but he's still part of the Peak Team and he pushes them to follow his hunches which often are right.

Circumstances bring Brette and her team home to Minnesota and sparks fly because Ty still wants to rescue her and she doesn't feel she can trust anyone not even God. But trusting and loving Ty may be the medicine she needs.

The novel is chock full of angst, romance, rescues, and a great cast of supporting characters. I give it 5 stars and recommend it for your keeper shelf. Thanks to Revell for allowing me to read Storm Front through Netgalley.

IN DEFENSE OF HONOR By Kristi Ann Hunter

This is a new author for me. She tackled a difficult subject in an earlier time period when there were no easier answers than there are now. The opening was intriguing but difficult to follow at first. It took a while before the story behind the heroine could be fleshed out.

Kit and her friend Daphne along with another woman Jess are running a home for illegitimate children and blackmailing the fathers for payment to support their offspring while assisting the mothers to keep their secrets and re-enter society with none the wiser.

But Kit meets Graham Lord Wharton and her opinion of men is forced to change when he inadvertently discovers where she has hidden herself away and discovers whom the children are and how she is trying to care for them.

Kit tells him of the tragedy that started everything for her and Daphne and about the guilt and shame she carries. He tries to persuade her that how she is going about things is all wrong and that God's grace is sufficient. But Kit has to learn the hard way and their budding romance seems doomed from the start.

This is an entertaining read and the series should be worth following. I recommend it for your summer reading and give it 4 stars. I received this from Bethany House through netgalley for my honest review.

THE ROAD TO MAGNOLIA GLEN By Pam Hillman

From the opening paragraphs, I was drawn into the story of Quinn O'Shea and Kiera and her sisters. On board ship from Ireland headed to the colonies, Kiera challenges Quinn to keep his 8 year old brother away from her 8 Year old sister. He is intrigued by the beauty and admires her spunk but he is headed to turn his responsibilities for his 2 younger brothers over to his brother Connor in Natchez Trace.

However, both Quinn and Kiera find things don't always end up the way you plan. Kiera, thinks she has been indentured as a wife to a gentleman in Natchez; but instead, she and her sisters are manhandled off to the Blue Heron which turns out to be a brothel where they are expected to prostitute themselves. Worse, her own brother-in-law with her half sister's blessings has sold them to pay off a debt.Quinn and his brother Rory, immediately come to the aid of the sisters but they are no match for the ruffians.

With the aid of some good hearted plantation owners, Quinn returns to rescue the sisters. They are able to spirit the women off but at great cost. One of the rescuers is killed. Now the brothers must take the girls and run for Breeze Hill, where their brother, Conner O'Shea is master. But Conner has a history with Kiera's half sister and almost sends them back to Natchez until Quinn steps in and explains that they can't be sent back into the danger that awaits them there.

The decision is made to let the women stay until Conner can look into how legal their indentured papers are. In the meantime, Quinn, struggles with whether he will be happy leaving his brothers and the girls and seeking his fortune or staying and protecting them from the threat hanging over their heads.

He is angry with Connor for leaving them in Ireland and the responsibilities to Quinn but he finds himself more and more drawn to the kind but spirited, Kiera.

I give this 5 stars and recommend it for your keeper shelf. The novel is part of a series but can stand alone. I received a copy from netgalley for my honest review.

THE PIRATE BRIDE By Kathleen Y'Barbo

This was a very entertaining book. It is the second in the Mayflower series by different authors but can definitely stand alone. I enjoyed the read and consider it a 3 star fun read for your summer stack.

I gave only 3 stars because I found though the storyline was very enthralling, the last quarter of the book was disappointing and the resolution was too quick and questionable. The Captain fell in love with the heroine too quickly when reunited; otherwise, you have to believe he fell in love first with a 12 year old child. I believe that there could have been affection develop and then when they met again they might fall in love but not at the speed the ending was written. I'm sorry to say because I have read good books by this author.

I received this book from Netgalley for my honest review.

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE By Karen Witemeyer

Karen Witemeyer always writes great romances. This one is no exception. It is a very sweet romance that jumps to a page turning start. It begins with Evangeline Pearson and her brother, Hamilton on an orphan train trying to be united with new parents when tragedy strikes. Evangeline ends up with two new brothers and a new last name instead.

Jumping ahead in time, Evangeline and her new brothers, Zach and Seth now  much older are happily living on their ranch. Enter Logan Fowler, looking to restore to his mother what was taken from them in a card game years earlier leading to the suicide of his father. He blames Zach Hamilton and means to make him pay. But Logan, meets the ever cheerful, Evangeline with two different colored eyes and he is never going to be the same and he just might have to change his agenda.

I highly recommend this for your reading list. I received it from Netgalley for my honest review.

LONE WITNESS By Rachel Dylan

Lone Witness is the second novel in the Atlanta Justice Series by Rachel Dylan. If you like legal thrillers, along with romance, then I highly suggest this author. I recommend this whole series for your summer reading stack. This story can stand alone but the characters from the prior book are involved so it makes more sense when read as a series.

Sophie Dawson, is a passionate hard working Prosecutor who finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time witnessing a double homicide. She becomes a prime witness and a prime target in need of protection. So her father hires, Cooper Knight, who along with his two friends, Noah and Landon, runs his own security service.

Both Sophie and Cooper have their own deep seated personal issues and their personal issues have them at odds with different future goals. However, being in constant daily contact with each other and under emotional stress and dangerous situations, the sparks begin to fly.

In the meantime, the distractions become more deadly, and even more confusing to pinpoint the cause because Sophie has more than one legal case capable of putting her in someone's cross hairs. Even more complicated, someone in her own office and in the FBI could be involved. Who do you trust?

I received this ebook from Netgalley for my honest review.

SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN TEXAS RANGERS ROMANCE COLLECTION

This is well worth your time and money. If you love Texas Ranger stories or stories about brides. This is a wonderful collection. Each one builds on the other. The characters reappear in the other stories as all the rangers belong to the same Company and Commander.

All of these authors are very good on their own, so to get this collection with stories from each is a steal. The story thread continues in each ranger's story as they are after the same bandit gang. Each one has a different twist, a ranger with a different personality and history, and a new heroine.

I highly recommend this for your summer read and give it 5 stars for excellence. I received this from netgalley for my honest opinion.

THE CAPTURED BRIDE By Michelle Griep

It takes a good author to make a great romance featuring the Colonial period. Laura Frantz is one of my favorites but now I suggest you add Michelle Griep to that list.

The Captured Bride is the third in the "Daughters of the Mayflower" series. I really enjoyed it and plan to go back and read the ones I missed. It is fast paced and enthralling. Mercy Lytton, a mixed breed Mohawk woman, is scout for the British. She, along with her long time partner, a British Ranger, are drawn into a detail to pretend they are a family along with two other men, one a french prisoner and traitor to the cause.

Elias Dubois, offered a deal to spare his life if he assists in getting a shipment of gold into British hands--agrees; but he quickly finds out that he is to play Mercy's husband. Neither is happy about the arrangement. Along the way, they encounter many dangerous situations revealing that Elias is more a man of integrity and courage than one would expect of a traitor. Both Mercy and her Ranger partner come to trust Elias more and more but still there remain secrets about their past and their mission that Mercy and Elias keep from each other.

As they lose more of their hearts to the other, Mercy is captured and Elias must risk his life to save her and that of a child hostage. They both have lost family members in the past and have learn to trust no one. And there remains a true traitor in their midst.

I give this a 5 star review and recommend it for your reading list. I received it from Netgalley for an honest review.

Launch - Note from the Author

...Falling for You stars both Corbin and the oldest Bradford sister, Willow. The two had a romantic relationship long ago, so when I thrust them into each other’s path again (kicking and screaming, I might add) fireworks ensued, which was so much fun to write. I enjoyed their banter. Willow’s strength. Corbin’s charm. And the chance to explore the novel's theme of reconciliation.

I hope Falling for You steals your heart!

Warmly, Becky

Amy Watson Author - Excerpt & Review

Text message from Corbin to Willow fifteen days before their breakup:

Corbin
I miss you. It feels like forever since you left.

Willow
I just left Dallas yesterday.

Corbin
Exactly. Until I met you, I didn’t know a day could feel like forever.

"'Falling For You' has twists and turns that left my mind racing almost as fast as I could turn the pages. The complex, yet beautifully woven story lines elicited visceral responses as I read. And somehow, somewhere along the way, it stopped being about just Willow’s story, it’s your story and my story...

You may shed some tears (I did!), but have no fear; there is plenty of humor! Rare are novels that produce legitimate laugh out loud moments and inside jokes amongst friends. Wade’s ability to introduce humor into her novels is really something special. Finally, the last page comes WAY too soon and I was left salivating for the NEXT novel! Watch out for another award for this beautiful story! This is a MUST READ!"

Remembrancy - Review

"A second chance romance with two likable characters—more so as details of their tumultuous past are revealed—Falling for You introduces a new romance with some familiar faces. Wade once again delivers the complications of romance with the nuances of family (how much do you love these sisters?)."

"'Falling for You' did me in. It is decidedly my favorite of Becky’s books (and you have no idea how strong the competition was!).

I loved that both Willow and Corbin had made very obvious, very heartbreaking mistakes in their past. Mistakes that influenced them negatively years later. I also loved that they, slowly, came face to face with those mistakes. And overcame them. And found forgiveness...

This book gets all the stars, all the happy tears, and my full recommendation."

Heidi Reads... - Review

"There is a perfect balance between all the plot threads and the redevelopment of Willow and Corbin's friendship and romance. They share fun banter, even (especially) when they are at odds, their chemistry is crackling with passion, and their relationship develops greater depth as Corbin is determined to show Willow how devoted he is to her. . . . I love the spiritual themes that are woven in seamlessly of forgiveness and the importance of turning all our worries over to God and allowing him to guide our lives. Even though this is the second book in the series it can definitely be read as a standalone. Highly recommend!"

"It’s not often that a book makes me reach for Kleenex but this one did...

Some hard issues were discussed in regards to their relationship and Wade did a fabulous job of weaving the descriptions throughout and heightening the emotional pull you felt towards Corbin and Willow...

Whew! What a fantastic book! You won’t be disappointed."

Radiant Light - Review

"Ms. Wade has created her own niche` in romantic suspense, and I am a huge fan! Even with the romance and mystery thread, the faith thread is not missing. It is woven beautifully and gives hope and encouragement to the reader.

Ms. Wade's mysterious thread is so good I wasn't exactly sure until later on which romance I was reading about, and I loved that!

Highly recommended!"

Cafinated Reads - Spotlight

"I loved Willow and Corbin’s story. Their past made for some great storyline for the future. The chemistry between these two is undeniable. You cannot help but fall in love with their story.

This is one book you will definitely not want to miss from Becky Wade!"

"I loved this book as much as I loved the first one! It was so good! It was deep and very thought provoking. It was just as big of roller coaster of emotion as the first book. I enjoyed revisiting all the characters from the previous book while reading Willow and Corbin’s story...

This whole book was great and I honestly can’t wait for the third! Becky is absolutely amazing and will always be a favorite! I highly recommend you read this series if you haven’t yet!"

Moments - Review

"Becky has done an incredible job with bringing Willow and the other characters to life; I felt as if they are real people. . . . It is so easy to connect with the characters and empathize with them as Becky really writes portraying the characters' hearts and their internal struggles with the various situations and their relationships. I found myself not being to put the book down once I started reading. I highly recommend "Falling for You," but encourage you to read the prequel novella and first book in the series as well. "

"For the best in contemporary romance, Becky Wade delivers every single time. I could never pick a favorite book because whatever I’m reading at the time is best, and that’s surely the case with Becky’s newest, Falling for You. In fact, it presented me with a conundrum … should I quickly read this story that totally captivated me, or proceed at a slower pace, so as to enjoy these characters longer and not miss a single nuance?

I really had no choice but to choose the latter because Falling for You is that good...

Falling for You is an outstanding story in every way and I hope we’ll see Britt’s story soon."

"As much as I related to Nora in True To You with her nerdy bookish self and the adoption themes . . . in a lot of ways I relate more to Willow. I will never be model material and only consider myself beautiful on good days, but Willow struggles with two big things that I have as well: shame from a past relationship, and growing up, the feeling that I had to be the perfect child."

I Am A Reader - Excerpt

Nora had recently acquired an excellent boyfriend named John Lawson. John’s only fault, so far as Willow could tell, was his bad taste in friends. John, who’d been unaware of Corbin and Willow’s past, had brought Corbin to Willow’s grandmother’s birthday party in July.

Since the party, Nora and John had been trying their best to keep Corbin separate from Willow. Ordinarily, Nora took pains not to breathe his name to Willow, despite that Willow knew that John and Nora hung out with Corbin. Every time she found out that Nora had seen Corbin, Willow felt a little like a high school girl whose best friend was being stolen away by her arch rival.

Willow only had two sisters, both younger. Corbin could have befriended the boyfriend of anyone else’s sister in all of America. Anyone else! In all of America! Why had he insisted on befriending hers?

Book by Book - Spotlight

"...the attraction and chemistry between Willow and Corbin was fantastic. I could literally feel it. There was a steady build of information and insight that kept me invested and interested from the first page until the end. It was so, so good. I just loved Corbin- his sense of humor, his determination, his kindness.

There was a bit of a mystery being solved in this book as well. It was light and fun and kept an added element of intrigue to the story."

cherylbbookblog - Review

"Falling For You is a wonderful work of fiction by Becky Wade. Characters and a story line that you are sure to love. If you love romance than this is the book for you."

"Falling for You encompasses so many emotions and moments of truth. Just when it seems like the characters are making progress, another layer of Willow and Corbin’s past relationship is revealed, increasing the tension and complexity of the story. I love that Becky Wade can make me laugh, cry, and swoon in a matter of pages. Mostly, I love that my own faith can be challenged through story — and what a lesson it is!"

"Falling for You is everything right in a romance novels. Becky Wade upped her game and brought me to tears a time or too, laughter (because Corbin is that hilarious), and a bunch of heartfelt sighs at the love blossoming between Corbin and Willow. I absolutely loved it!..

All in all, this was a one-nighter, page turning, gotta love Becky Wade type of read."

"...Falling for You was fabulous, as expected!

All I can say is that I enjoyed this book from start to finish. It was the perfect compliment to the previous book and the end was just what I was hoping for! Another fantastic novel by Becky Wade, but I have come to expect nothing less! If you have not had a chance to pick up this series you must!"

"Sizzling romance, heart-wrenching loss, and a faith theme woven throughout the story make Falling for You a stand-out Christian romance. A touch of mystery and epistolary chapter endings only add to the reading pleasure."

"Becky Wade writes in a way that draws a reader in, causing hope to surface, and tender love to arise. I felt like an honorary character and enjoyed being a part of this family so much. I love that this story isn't one dimensional--there are so many facets that meld together in a satisfying read that will twist your heart."

Willow had seen him in person for the first time years before when he’d sauntered into a Sports Illustrated photo shoot featuring philanthropic pro athletes, models, actors, musicians, and business magnates. She’d been holding a to-go cup of coffee by its protective sleeve in that moment. Golden sunlight had bathed the studio. His legendary status had whisked around him like a spell.

He’d been very relaxed that day. His sense of humor, charm, and easy confidence had worked like a balm on all of them. He’d won over every person in the place, including cautious her. She’d had no idea then that the quarterback with the irresistible smile would become her downfall.

"I personally love Willow (she might be my favorite of the three sisters), and I just loved this love story. True to any Becky Wade novel, this book is packed full of heart-stopping romance that just makes your toes tingle (Can we say Corbin? Mmmhmm)! There’s also a little bit of a mystery thrown in — Charlotte quickly became one of my favorite characters!"

God is Love - Review

"This story is filled with intrigue, faith, hope, and romance. As a reader, I couldn’t stop turning the pages until I reached “the end”. As a writer, I applaud Becky Wade for her masterful storytelling. She writes beautifully and tells her characters’ stories in a way that draws the reader in and makes them care about what happens in their fictional story world.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to anyone who needs a second chance romance in real-life or just enjoys reading a good story that will make you laugh with hilarious dialogue and smile as you share sweet moments with the characters. "

"This story made me literally laugh out loud at times, but other moments it had me thinking serious, deep thoughts about God, His love for us, grace, and forgiveness. I loved the balance this book found between humor and serious. It also included a wonderful love story - probably my favorite type - the 'reunion romance.'"

"It makes me happy to be able to recommend a book to friends that really is just that good. It’s sweet, and unpredictable, and clean, yet very romantic and real. This author doesn’t sugar coat real life situations just because it’s an inspiration read. She dives right in, but in a way that is very respectable.

Falling for You isn’t the kind of book you can “just read one more chapter in” because when you finish that chapter, you want to keep going! This is a bingeable book, an “up till 2 AM” read."

Wishful Endings - Review

"Becky Wade has written another story with lovable characters and a message that will touch readers' hearts. She delves into some difficult topics with humor, love, and grace. Add to that a sizzling romance and you have a story that is sure to be a favorite."

Mel's Shelves - Review

"It shouldn't be too surprising that I loved everything about this book, including the fabulous cover!...

This is a fabulous book from beginning to end! It's one I highly recommend and will definitely read again! Even though I wasn't familiar with the characters, I loved the setup for the next book and look forward to how that relationship will play out. "

"I LOVE how the author kept what happened in their relationship SO REAL! Couples really do face temptations and struggles in real life, especially when one person in the relationship is a Christian and another is not. Consequences, forgiveness, peace, and not becoming a victim of your past were all explored in this book, through the truth of God's Word and who He is. So well done! And, of course, the romantic tension was great ; ).

Basically...put this book, and all of Becky Wade's other books, on your To Be Read list! : )"

Jorie Loves A Story - Spotlight

"I must say that when I finished this book, it jumped to one of my all-time favorites...

Becky created a superb novel, well worth the 5 star read and a spot on your keeper shelf."

"All in all, this book seems to have a little bit of everything. Mystery! Romance! And precocious twelve-year-old girls who understand their uncles way better than anyone else. Charlotte was a really sweet addition to the cast of characters and became one of my favorites. Her small nudges certainly help get the ball rolling in the beginning, for which none of us are unhappy! :D

There are many more reasons that I could name in order to try and convince you to give this one a try. But ultimately? All I've really got is that it's by Becky Wade and that should totally be enough to convince you! So what are you waiting for? Go read it."

"For those of you sticking with me, let me tell you why I enjoyed this book so much that I began rereading it less than a month after devouring it. This is no ordinary romance though. It begins with a wounded NFL star, a precocious child, a missing person mystery AND a lost love with wounds so deep they are almost part of the characters blood. When you put all of that together and catapult the former couple back into each other’s worlds, you have yourself a serious page turner...

If you love a great romance with so much more, this is a must read."

"Falling for You, the second book in Becky Wade’s Bradford Sisters series, is a fantastic addition to the set!..

I loved the witty, and sometimes snarky, back and forth of this story. I loved observing the softening of Willow’s heart. I loved seeing Corbin becoming the hero he is meant to be. And I believe you will, too!"

"In her novel, Falling for You, book two in the Bradford Sisters Romance series, author Becky Wade has written fun and exciting clean contemporary romance that readers are sure to fall in love with. From page one, this novel comes to life off the pages...

Readers definitely do not want to miss this excellent sequel to True to You and the continued story of the Bradford Sisters!"

"What a wonderful, clean, fun, delightful, suspenseful, and romantic story...

...I highly recommend it. I believe many readers would relate to the power of forgiveness, moving from the past, and redemption."

Famously beautiful model Willow Bradford is taking a temporary break from her hectic schedule to work as the innkeeper at her family's small-town bed-and-breakfast. She was enjoying the peace of her hometown, Merryweather, Washington, right up until she came face-to-face with Corbin Stewart, the man she loves to hate. A thoughtful rule-follower by nature, Willow threw caution to the wind four years ago when she entrusted her heart to Corbin--and suffered the consequences when it all fell apart.

Former NFL quarterback Corbin is forceful, charming, and accustomed to getting what he wants . . . except where Willow Bradford is concerned. Unable to forget her, he's never stopped regretting what happened between them. When their paths unexpectedly cross again, he's determined to make her give him a second chance.

When a decades-old missing persons case finds Corbin and Willow working together, they're forced to confront their past and who they've become--and whether they can risk falling for one another all over again.

Falling for You, is the second in a series about the Bradford sisters. It could stand alone but really makes more sense if you have the background from the previous book in the series.

Having said that, I must say that when I finished this book, it jumped to one of my all-time favorites beside two other books I think are great not only for the romance but for their spiritual insight (those being: The Inheritance by Tamera Alexander and The Gladiator by Carla Capshaw).

Before you think this is going to be a sappy review, Let me start by saying I was aggravated by Willow's unwillingness to listen to, much less forgive Corbin. She was supposed to be a Christian but she acted more selfish than selfless.

Christians aren't perfect, and when they put someone or something on a pedestal above God then, not only are they breaking a commandment but they fall susceptible to temptations.

Corbin was right to be persistent and persevering in confronting his and Willow's past. He had messed up royally but not unforgivably.

Corbin was sexy, funny, and sweet. Willow was the opposite, classy, gentle, and loyal. The agenda to solve a 40 year old mystery by one little girl brings them together again; but many obstacles remain in their path including Corbin's Dad's illness. Corbin's Dad, Joe dislikes Willow for what she did to Corbin earlier and he extracts promises from her that just might keep the couple apart for good.

I was angry at how these promises were creating such angst for the characters as Corbin had to deal with his Dad's dying alone. Ultimately, I realized what the author, and most importantly, God needed to do with the characters.

Corbin needed to see that God not Willow was all he needed. We people can't fix everything. We have a need within that can only be filled by One.

Becky created a superb novel, well worth the 5 star read and a spot on your keeper shelf.
I received this book from Bethany House for my honest review.

A LIGHT ON THE HILL By Connilyn Cossette

A few Biblical Romance authors are worth reading. A Light on a Hill by Connilyn Cossette is definitely a keeper. It is a page turner. From the beginning, Moriyah's story grabs you and you find yourself rooting for her to find compassion, courage, and love. You pray that someone appreciates her and sees the real person before the abuse and scarring affected her.

When she meets a man who seems to be attracted to her even though he hasn't seen her except through a veil, you suspect as she does that maybe this is the man with whom her father has arranged a marriage match.

You feel Moriyah's disappointment when things are not what they seem and then react in horror to the innocent mistake that ends in tragedy.

Mostly, you root for her as she struggles to get to safety in a city of refuge protected by faithful men of her father and surprisingly by the brother of her accuser.  Darek has every right to execute her but he finds himself drawn to the genuine caring woman Moriyah is.

Finally, for those who appreciate it, the aspects of faith and how it drives the characters is compelling especially when Moriyah feels and responds to the promptings from Yahweh. For those who understand and believe, the descriptions by the author are accurate and enthralling.

I give this 5 stars for your keeper shelf and for purpose of disclosure; I received this book from netgalley for my honest review.

KILL SHOT By Susan Sleeman

This is the second in the White Knight series and an excellent suspenseful romance novel by Susan Sleeman one of my favorite authors of that genre. This promises to be a very entertaining series.

Kill Shot has you from the opening scene when Dr. Olivia Dobbs client, a military veteran suffering from PTSB, is murdered right in front of her. She becomes the FBI's prime witness as well as possible suspect. FBI Agent, Rick Cannon, knows that the victim was killed by a smart bullet, and he and his team are anxious to find the sniper before he kills again.

When Olivia lands in the cross hairs of the sniper, Rick becomes even more desperate to find the killer, because he finds himself becoming drawn to the pretty therapist. Olivia, for her part, feels the mutual attraction but Rick is all the things she wants to avoid in a potential romantic interest. He is former military, suffers from his own issues which he keeps close to the vest, and doesn't trust her.

As, subsequent victims fall and Rick tries to keep Olivia safe in his parents compound where his estrangement from his parents complicates things, the team races against time to find the sniper before he does the next Kill Shot.

I received this novel from Netgalley for my honest review.
